I love the simplicity of this tahini sauce because I can just quickly whip it up and it adds that lovely tahini flavor to any dish. I like to add this sauce to wraps and salads. It goes well with my Falafel Wraps and Health Boost Salad. You can also use it as a dip for fresh veggies like celery and carrot sticks. It’s basically like a hummus flavor without the chickpeas. It works well to replace mayo in sandwiches. This tahini sauce is such a great versatile condiment.
What Makes This Tahini sauce Healthy
- Tahini is made from ground sesame seeds, which are high in magnesium, b vitamins, and zinc. This is great at lowing blood pressure.
- It’s good source of plant protein and fiber.
- Sesame seeds also contain calcium, which is great for bone health.
- It contains fresh garlic, which is great at fighting viruses and infections and cancer fighting properties. I actually will take a fresh garlic clove and crush it to release its beneficial compound called allicin. It’s an enzyme that is anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidative, and anti-bacterial. I eat this raw whenever I’m feeling sick. Just eat this on a full stomach as it can cause stomach upset.
- Garlic contains active compounds that helps lower blood pressure.
- Cumin contains antioxidants and is a good source of iron. Plus it helps indigestion.
